Katie A. Axtell
Katie Axtell focuses her practice in representing creditors interests in bankruptcy matters and related litigation. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (B.A., 2000) and her law degree from Seattle University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2004). While in law school, she was Note and Comment Editor of the Seattle University Law Review. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Axtell served as a judicial clerk for Justice Charles W. Johnson of the Washington State Supreme Court and worked in private practice in the area of creditors rights and remedies. She is the co-chair of the Ethics and Practice Committee for the Federal Bar Association Western District of Washington and was elected by her peers to serve as a member of the Executive Committee for the Bankruptcy Section of the King County Bar Association. She has served as a volunteer for the Country Doctor Legal Clinic for the King County Bar Association since 2005.

Marisa A. Bender
Marisa Bender focuses her practice in the area of creditors' rights. She received her undergraduate degree (B.A., Cum Laude, 2000) from Western Washington University and her law degree from University of Washington School of Law (J.D., 2006). While at the University of Washington, Ms. Bender worked with low-income immigrants through the Immigrant Families Advocacy Project and the UW Immigration Clinic. After graduating from law school, Ms. Bender represented indigent clients charged with misdemeanors and felonies in Kitsap County. She was admitted to the Washington State Bar Association in 2006, and the Oregon State Bar in 2011.

Barbara L. Bollero
Barbara Bollero joined the firm in 2009 with over 25 years experience practicing litigation in four states, including Maryland, Illinois, California and Washington. For the past 10 years, she has represented individuals, associations and corporate entities in federal and state court cases in the greater Puget Sound area. Before that she litigated matters throughout 10 southern and central California counties for 10 years. Ms. Bollero was first licensed to practice law in Texas, where she was awarded her J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law and was an invited member of the Legal Research Board. She holds a B.A. degree as a James Scholar from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she also earned graduate credits in sociology. Ms. Bollero has broad complex litigation experience in a variety of matters including inaccurate survey claims, homeowners' association disputes, construction defects, insurance coverage, bad faith, indemnification, environmental remediation, class actions, multi-district litigation and appellate issues. She has tried cases involving unlawful detainer, premises liability, agency and other disputes, and has won a significant majority of summary judgment motions, arbitration awards and trial verdicts. Annette E. Cook
Annette Cook focuses her practice in the areas of real estate foreclosures, unlawful detainers, and surplus funds. She received her undergraduate degree in 1998, (B. A. Sociology, Dean's List), from City University and law degree in 2001 (J.D., Cum Laude) from Seattle University School of Law. After graduating from law school, Ms. Cook served as a public defender with Society of Counsel Representing Accused Persons in Seattle, Washington. Thereafter, Ms. Cook served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Washington State Attorney General's Office, focusing in the areas of public disclosure, disciplinary hearings, and complex civil litigation throughout the State of Washington, including appellate practice. Most recently, Ms. Cook has worked in private practice in the areas of real property, commercial transactions, and civil litigation. Ms. Cook is currently a member of the Washington State Bar Association and Washington State Trial Lawyers Association. She also serves as a mentor for new incoming law students at Seattle University School of Law. Devra D. Featheringill
Devra Featheringill focuses her practice on litigation involving creditors rights and real estate matters.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Puget Sound (B.A. Politics and Government) in 1995, and her law degree from the University of Washington  in 2001.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Featheringill worked in private practice, representing companies and individuals in civil litigation.  Her experience includes work in the fields of construction defect, tort liability, and complex business disputes.  Ms. Featheringill has also represented both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy.  She is admitted to practice in state court of Washington, as well as the U.S. District Courts for Western and Eastern Districts of Washington.  Ms. Featheringill has twice been recognized as a Rising Star in Washington Law & Politics magazine.  She currently serves as a member of the University Prep Alumni Board.

Laurie K. Friedl
Laurie K. Friedl focuses her practice in the area of creditors' rights. Kennard M. Goodman
Ken Goodman focuses his practice on real property and title insurance litigation.  He received his undergraduate degree in 1975 (Sociology and Criminology) from the University of California at Berkeley and his law degree in 1981 (J.D., cum laude) from Hastings College of the Law.  At Hastings, Mr. Goodman was the Senior Articles Editor on the Hastings Law Journal, and graduated sixth in his class.  After graduating from law school, he served as  a law clerk for 3½ years for the Honorable Lawrence H. Cooke, the Chief Judge of the State of New York.  For the past 6 years, Mr. Goodman was an Associate Claims Counsel in the regional claims office of a national title insurance company.  Prior to that Mr. Goodman worked as a litigator in private firms in New York and Seattle, Washington, engaging  primarily in insurance coverage, insurance defense, and real property litigation.  Mr. Goodman has broad litigation experience in a variety of matters including environmental contamination, failures of large power-generating equipment, and complex commercial transactions.  He has appeared before the Washington Supreme Court and Court of Appeals and the New York Appellate Division, and prepared the briefs for arguments before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the New York State Court of Appeals.  Mr. Goodman is currently admitted to practice law in Washington, California, New York, and New Jersey, as well as in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Western District of Washington the Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.

Therese S. Harris
Therese S. Harris focuses her practice in the area of creditor rights litigation. Ms. Harris attended California State University, Northridge where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminology (1985).  Ms. Harris then received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from California Lutheran University (1993) and her law degree from Ventura College of Law (2004).  While in law school Ms. Harris was a judicial research assistant, volunteered in the Family Law Self-Help Center at the Ventura County Superior Court, and the Student Bar Association Treasurer in 2002-2003 and Vice President in 2003-2004.  Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Harris focused her practice on creditor rights and civil litigation and was in-house counsel for a major collection agency.  Ms. Harris was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006 and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Los Angeles Bar Association.

K.C. Ushijima
K.C. Ushijima focuses his practice in the area of creditors' rights. Mr. Ushijima manages the Utah Office for Bishop, White, Marshall & Weibel, P.S. In 2004, he received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University-Hawaii in Communications.  In 2010, he received his law degree from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. During law school, he participated in the General Civil Clinic and the Mediation Clinic. The General Civil Clinic assisted community members with matters ranging from family law to landlord/tenant the Mediation Clinic assisted in divorce settlements and matters at small claims court. Prior to joining the firm, he has worked on both sides of the foreclosure process, for both creditors and debtors. He is currently a Volunteer Court Visitor for the 3rd District Court of Utah assisting in Guardianship matters. He was admitted to the Utah State Bar and the U.S. District for the District of Utah in 2010.

Sean Holland
Sean Holland focuses his litigation practice in the areas of real property and title insurance law. Mr. Holland has extensive litigation experience, representing lenders, individuals and title insurance companies in cases involving adverse possession claims and other boundary disputes, mechanic's liens, evictions, construction disputes, easements, judicial foreclosures, earnest money disputes, and subdivision conditions and approvals, through trial and appeal. Mr. Holland earned an undergraduate degree in East Asian Studies from Yale University in 1983 and his law degree from the University of Washington in 1989. After graduating from law school he worked in private practice for seven years, primarily litigating real property and land use issues. From 1997 to 2008 he worked as a claims counsel in the Seattle office of a national title insurance company. More recently, he has served on active duty as a judge advocate officer in the U.S. Army from 2008 through 2012, handling actions under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Mr. Holland is admitted to practice in Washington, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, and he continues to serve as a judge advocate officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Adam G. Hughes
Adam Hughes focuses his practice on litigation involving creditors and real estate related matters.  Mr. Hughes has litigated a wide range of matters since beginning his practice in 2003 and has represented a full range of clients from individuals to Fortune 500 companies.  He received his undergraduate degree in economics with honors from the University of Chicago in 1998 where he was also the captain of the baseball team and the Amos Alonzo Stagg medal winner.  Mr. Hughes received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 2003 and passed the Washington Bar that same year.  He is admitted to practice in all Washington state courts, the Eastern and Western Washington Federal District Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Jeffrey S. Mackie
Jeffrey Mackie focuses his practice in the areas of creditors' rights and real estate litigation. He received his undergraduate degree (B.A., Summa Cum Laude, 1995) from Dickinson College and his law degree from Seattle University School of Law (J.D., 2004). While at Seattle University, Mr. Mackie worked in the Ronald A. Peter R. Osterman
Peter Osterman represents creditors in both California and Washington State.  He received his undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University (B.A., 1989) and his law degree from Southwestern Law School (J.D., 1993).  After law school, Mr. Osterman practiced in the area of insurance defense litigation in Southern California.  After relocating to the Pacific Northwest in 1998, Mr. Osterman represented individuals and corporations in state court in the areas of civil litigation and contract law.  Mr. Osterman is a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and volunteers with the King County Dependency CASA program representing the interests of children.  Mr. Osterman also serves as a volunteer at Seattle Preparatory High School Mock Trial Program.  Mr. Osterman is currently a member of the State Bar of California, the Washington State Bar Association, the Alaska State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, Washington Lawyers for the Arts, and the Creditor/Debtor section of the Washington State Bar Association.

Rebecca R. Shrader
Becky Shrader focuses her practice on litigation involving creditors' rights and real estate matters. She received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University (B.A. English) in 1992 and her J.D. from Capital University Law School (J.D. cum laude) in 2003. Immediately prior to joining the firm, Ms. Shrader prosecuted judicial foreclosures and defended creditors in litigated matters involving consumer protection statutes and real estate matters in Ohio. Her experience also includes several years practicing in the area of insurance defense litigation, handling a variety of cases including personal injury, construction defect, trucking liability, employment law, and professional negligence. Ms. Shrader has successfully prosecuted and defended lawsuits on behalf of her clients through motions for summary judgment, trials and appeals. She is admitted to the practice of law in the states of Ohio and Washington, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and the United States Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit. Ms. Shrader is committed to the mentorship of young attorneys and law students, having participated in the Ohio Supreme Court's Lawyer-to-Lawyer Program, Capital University's Women's Law Association Mentorship Program, and Capital University's Bar Tutoring Program.  She was admitted in the Ohio State Bar in 2003, and the Washington State Bar in 2011.

Susan M. Stanley
Susan M. Stanley has devoted her legal career to the practice of bankruptcy law and creditor-debtor matters. She brings extensive and varied experience to the firm, working on Chapters 11, 13 and 7 cases. Ms. Stanley's experience includes the handling of motions for relief from stay, plan confirmations, preference and fraudulent conveyance claims, objections to claim, adversary proceedings, and out of court settlements. She received her JD cum laude from Seattle University School of Law (formerly University of Puget Sound School of Law) in 1981, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Puget Sound (BA 1976). Ms. Stanley was Note and Comment editor of the University of Puget Sound Law Review. She served for two years as law clerk to the Honorable Samuel J. Steiner, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington at Seattle.   Ms. Stanley has served on the Executive Committee of the WSBA Creditor-Debtor Section, an elected position, and also volunteered her time as a pro bono attorney with the Debt Clinic in Seattle.  She gained admission to the Washington State Bar Association in 1981. Ms. Stanley also is admitted to the United States District Courts for both the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington.

Roy T.J. Stegena
Roy T.J. Stegena handles litigation involving creditors and real estate matters. He has more than 25 years of litigation experience, including extensive trial work, in a wide range of substantive areas.  Mr. Stegena graduated magna cum laude from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 1977, and from the Dickinson School of Law in 1981.  After beginning his litigation career as a criminal prosecutor, he moved to tort law claims and then to litigation arising out of real estate, construction defects and commercial matters.  Before relocating to Washington in 2007, Mr. Stegena served as the Chairman of the Real Estate Litigation Committee of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.  He has been a frequent lecturer to members of the bar on civil litigation matters.  Mr. Stegena is currently admitted to practice in all of the courts in Washington, as well as in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the United States Supreme Court

Jerome M. Yalon, Jr.
Jerome M. Yalon focuses his practice in the area of creditors' rights litigation. Mr. Yalon attended the University of San Francisco with a concentration in government (B.A. 1975), and University of San Francisco, School of Law (J.D. 1978), where he received the Bancroft-Whitney Award in Real Property. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Yalon focused on Creditors Rights, Civil Litigation, and Bankruptcy, and has lectured on these topics in continuing education of the bar courses. Mr. Yalon served as an employee of United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of California, and was the manager of the San Francisco Division, and lead staff for the California Trial Court Budget commission, reporting to the Judicial Council of California. Mr. Yalon was in-house counsel for a national bank that is a major credit card issuer. Mr. Yalon was admitted to the California State Bar in 1978, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Northern, Eastern, Central, and Southern Districts of California. He is a member of the Contra Costa Bar Association California and California Creditors Bar Association, and a past member of the San Francisco Bar Association, The Alameda County Bar Association, and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Hallie N. Zimmerman
Hallie N. Zimmerman focuses her practice in the area of creditors' rights litigation. Ms. Zimmerman attended the University of California, Los Angeles with a concentration in anthropology (B.A. 1995), and Santa Clara University, School of Law (J.D. 2006), where she was an Emery Scholar, participated on the Honors Moot Court team and received multiple Pro Bono Awards for her work with Amnesty International.Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Zimmerman focused on complex construction defect litigation. Ms. Zimmerman was admitted to the California State Bar in 2006, the United States District Court, Eastern District of California in 2007, and is a member of the California Creditors Bar Association. Currently, she volunteers with Bay Area Legal Aid.
